The difference is related with the area of their coverage. Inlays look more like fillings but they are placed in between tuberculous on the teeth surfaces. On-lays have a structure that can cover one or more tubercles.

What is its content?

Inlays and onlays are made of composite that is reinforced with ceramic or fiber. If the other tooth being contacted is natural, composite or porcelain, appropriate material is preferred.

Why is it preferred?
