Digital Impression and Scanning

In traditional dentistry, for processes such as prosthesis, veneer and filling, impressions of teeth and jaw are taken with metal spoons. While this method can trigger the gag reflex, it also causes for the measures taken not to be always correct. However, in digital dentistry process of impression taking is realized with 3 dimensional scanning method. Teeth are scanned with an optic camera and they are taken to computer environment as 3 dimensional. Three dimensional scanning began to be used in almost all the branches of dentistry.
